Glazed units with alarm loop – AlarmShield

With Alarmshield, an alarm loop applied to the surface of the glass, the insulated glass unit becomes an integral part of the building's alarm system.

Insulated glass units integrated with alarm system

Insulated glass units with alarm loop AlarmShield is a solution in which an electronic circuit is applied to the glass in the form of a small stamp. Alarm loops are applied to the glass with a special metallic-enamel, which in a further stage of production is fixed by toughening the glass.

When a glazed unit with an alarm loop is broken, the glass breaks into many small pieces. It causes an interruption of the electrical circuit and immediately activates the alarm.

Alarm loop variants

On the edge

In insulated glass units placed under the sealing, on the edge of the glass. After installation, the loop is hidden in the window frame.

Visible

Placed in the corner, similar to the toughening sign. The size of the loop comes in two variants.

Specifications

  • Monolithic ESG or ESG HST panes (float and tinted in glass mass).
  • Double and triple-glazed insulated glass units (glazed units with alarm loop – ESG glass).
  • Glass thickness of 4-19 mm.

The loop can be in any corner where there is no tempered glass mark. The default is the lower edge, the corner opposite the toughened glass stamp.

In both double and triple glazed units, the AlarmShield alarm loop is directed towards the cavity, between the panes.

Alarm loops are applied to uncoated glass. In the case of triple glazed units, we suggest the use of the central pane as tempered with the AlarmShield loop.

  • AlarmShield loop resistance: 0.5-10 Ohms.
  • Cable 2 x 0.14 mm^2 with a length of about 20 cm terminated with a mounting plug.
  • 3, 6 or 10 m long mounting wire with matching plugs can be ordered optionally.
  • Connecting the mounting wire to the AlarmShield glass ensures a permanent connection in the frame, with IP67 protection. The plug connectors are additionally gold-plated for reliable and stable operation.

AlarmShield glass has a safety class C1 (According to PN-93/E-08390-22:1993), providing excellent protection regardless of changing environmental conditions, all year round.

AlarmShield glass has environmental class IV – for outdoor use – according to EN 50130-5:2012
