Enamelled glass & spandrels

Enamelled glass is made by applying a layer of ceramic paint, drying and toughening it, which makes the enamel layer durable. PRESS GLASS carries out the enamelling process on the edges (LMJ) or on the entire surface of the glass (spandrels), depending on the needs and place of application of the enamelled glass.

Ceramic-coated spandrels

To obtain completely opaque glass panes - spandrels, they are coated with ceramic paint. Thanks to the toughening process, which involves drying and partial fusion of the paint, spandrels not only have aesthetic properties, but also take on all the advantages of toughened glass. In PRESS GLASS spandrels are manufactured in any RAL colour, allowing for matching to the style of the facade.

Spandrel configurator

The spandrel configurator allows:

  • ceramic paint colour selection;
  • saving selected parameters to a PDF file for later use.

Edge enamelling (LMJ)

PRESS GLASS carries out edge enamelling of glass using the LMJ method. The machine roller makes it possible to apply enamel over a width of up to 150 mm in a single movement. Edge enamelling makes it possible to cover selected elements of window frames or seals, for example, improving the appearance of the final product. An example application is insulated glass units with a stepped edge. In combination with the enamelled edge of the larger pane, it is possible to aesthetically hide the structural frame, sealing compounds or spacers, giving the façade a consistent, uninterrupted appearance.
